{"id":574,"date":"2016-11-24T21:28:22","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T21:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.no-destination.org\/?p=574"},"modified":"2016-11-24T21:28:22","modified_gmt":"2016-11-24T21:28:22","slug":"thankful","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.no-destination.org\/index.php\/2016\/11\/24\/thankful\/","title":{"rendered":"Thankful"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a few rough years in Northern Arizona, I am initially thankful that I am able to quit my job and hit the road. <\/p>\n<p>I have the usual thankfuls: family, friends, dogs, health.<br \/>\nBut ultimately, I am thankful for not giving up.<br \/>\nThe one thing that has been at my core my entire life is the knowledge that &#8216;things change&#8217;.<br \/>\nChange is inevitable. &#8220;Nothing endures but change&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Something <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vox.com\/science-and-health\/2016\/11\/22\/13638374\/buddhist-monk-mindfulness\" target=\"_blank\">I read this morning<\/a> gave me pause and a light on my upcoming travels, <em>&#8220;The future is not something that will come to us; the future is built by us, by how we speak and what we do in the present moment.&#8221;<\/em> said by Buddhist monk Phap Dung<\/p>\n<p>I am thankful for the present moment.<br \/>\nMay we all engage in it fully. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a few rough years in Northern Arizona, I am initially thankful that I am able to quit my job and hit the road.
