Hic Sunt Dracones

Hic Sunt Dracones

When I was seventeen my dad took me to Lake Tahoe. He’d rented some kind of condo room on the bottom floor, next to the lake, with our sliding door opening to a view of exquisite mountains in the distance. Very soon after we arrived, I started feeling something I couldn’t describe. All I knew was that when I was outside I didn’t want to look directly at the gigantic mountains. They seemed unreal and I felt very disconnected from…

Small spaces

Small spaces

My Four Wheel Camper isn’t huge. It’s rather small inside, actually. Most of the time it works great for me and the dogs – they hang out up on the cab-over bed, and I do my cooking and computering or reading in the main area when inside. When I went on my previous no-destination adventure, I had this camper pretty set up for my daily needs. Just a few clothes, one storage container of food, only necessary cooking and kitchen…

On a Precipice

On a Precipice

This feeling of teetering on a ledge has been strong these past few weeks. Hopefully, I fixed that just now, so I’m posting this to catch y’all up since I’m getting back to adventuring! Here’s “Getting Back on the Road!”  http://www.no-destination.org/index.php/2018/06/30/getting-back-on-the-road/ and the most recent “Making Plans”  http://www.no-destination.org/index.php/2018/07/02/making-plans/ If you haven’t already subscribed, put your email address in where is says “Subscribe to No Destination” on the right side bar, and…

Making plans

Making plans

In three parts. I. I’ve been ruminating this past week about what to do with all my stuff. I have a small Uhaul storage unit for my climate controlled items (books, mostly), and my motorcycles and garage stuff is at a friend’s place. It’s tempting to just donate it all, but the problem is … I rather like my books, have a couple of boxes of dad paperwork and photos, my truck rear seats that I took out when I…
