Yachats, Corvallis, Yachats again

Yachats, Corvallis, Yachats again

I need to set some kind of routine for writing blog posts as I seem to be way behind in my updates! I’m currently in Enterprise, Oregon – at the NorthEastern corner of Oregon – visiting friends, but I need to update y’all about my wonderful time in Yachats and Corvallis!  One of the things that’s impressed upon me during this “Finding Home Tour” and visiting friends, is how many people I have in the Pacific NorthWest. I lived in…

to the Olympic Rainforest

to the Olympic Rainforest

After leaving friends in Marrowstone Island, the dogs and I made our way to the north-westernmost point of the continental U.S.; Cape Flattery The water is an amazing dark turquoise blue. Sully was mesmerized.  Cape Flattery, and the town of Neah Bay are part of the Makah Reservation.  Click here: for little bit of information on the Makah People.  The hike to the point was through lush forests, and is well marked with boardwalks and railings in parts. It’s about 0.75…

More catching up : Marrowstone Island, Wa

More catching up : Marrowstone Island, Wa

Between visiting with friends, sightseeing, and lack of interwebz connectivity, it’s a little difficult to keep up with my blog! Ha! Marrowstone Island, and that area there around the more well-known Port Townsend, is…

The drive towards the next location might have construction and take hours longer than expected, so you stop many miles sooner than what you’d thought. You see a mystery dirt road off to the West and decide to go…

Old friends

Old friends

After I left Spokane, I continued on my friend visit adventure and headed West to see some folks I knew when I lived in Seattle 1990 – 1994.  Many years ago, they moved just outside the small Washington town of Rockport, Wa. in the North Cascades, on the edge of the North Cascades National Park.  I got set up out front, nestled amongst the flower beds.  Then the dogs and and I took a hike on a trail just up…

Onward to Spokane!

Onward to Spokane!

One of the things I realized while boondocking in Montana was that I’ve done a lot of alone-time campering over the past few years and right now I have a unique opportunity to visit some old friends. As well, this is my “finding home tour” and that isn’t just about location – community is a giant slice of that pie chart. That’s when I decided to not continue north to Glacier National Park and instead head West to friends.  On that…
